Super Bowl Round-Up

The pundits at TFR have now chosen two straight AFC teams to win the Super Bowl and have been crushed by costly 4th-quarter bungles (last year was Peyton Manning's ill-thrown pick-six, this year it was Rashard Mendenhall's fumble).

Listen, it's not my fault these teams are not doing what they are supposed to do. The AFC is the superior conference and I know the Super Bowl ought to reflect that. Those who assailed me for picking against the Packers/Saints are eating free dinners on the mistakes of AFC teams, not the glory of NFC teams.

Second of all, when the JTA (essentially the Jewish AP) decides to send an e-mail to ask its readers if the (pretty funny) Snickers Super Bowl ad (featuring Roseanne Barr and Richard Lewis) was anti-Semitic, we've really got some problems in our future. I'm sick of news not being news. The sly way to garner unique hits on an internet site is not the way any of the discourse we need to have is going to be had. Leave the Super Bowl out of this!

I may have had too much Aleve today.
