Here's an update from Gaza...from where I am not reporting....I have not boarded a plane, I have not hopped on a train....I will be staying right here in New York where its cold and the violence is much more arbitrary.

This most recent [euphemism for violence] (i.e. war, just and heroically righteous defense, retaliation, act of wanton aggression) by Israel against Hamas, the ruling [qualifier] (i.e. freedom-fighting, cuddly, insanely fanatical, widely-decreed terrorist, militant) organization in the Gaza Strip has left [unreliable numerical assessment] civilians dead according to [name of biased source of information] (i.e. Amnesty International, the liberal leftist American media, the Palestinian Ministry of Information, the even-more-liberal-and-even-more-leftist Israeli media, Twitter).
With the end of the [event] (really demoralizing year, Bush administration, Olmert administration, Dallas Cowboys' disappointing season, Hamas cease-fire) arriving, it seems a [descriptor] (curious, opportune, bummer of a, natural, somewhat unreasonable) time for this turn of events to transpire.
With some [aspiration] (luck, misfortune, divine prophecy, this whole thing will blow over [wild card] (soon, into the West Bank, at some point, into Israel proper) when the [unreliable authority] (United Nations, next season of 30 Rock, Iran, United States, End of Days) intercedes and [verb] (postpones, incites, green lights, nags about) further violence.
Until then, [platitude] (fight, rock, pray, party) on.
