Cimetiere Montparnasse

After being surrounded by billions of people at the museum, this was easily the highlight of my day and my last night in Paris. After dinner in Montparnasse, I walked down Rue Emile Richard which divides the cemetary in half. The cemetary was closed and it was just after dusk. The weather had cooled down from a rain and the street went on for about a quarter mile and the quiet just hung in this eerie beauty. The walls were too high to climb, but since it was an above-ground cemetary, you could see some of the tops of the graves from the street.

I couldn't even get in and I honestly enjoyed this more than any minute I spent in the Musee d'Orsay
